Two bishops visit Open Table communities this month

Right Reverend Dr John Perumbalath, Bishop of Liverpool

BISHOPS are like buses: we wait ages for one then two come at once!

On Sunday 21st January two Open Table communities are hosting their local Church of England leaders.

Right Revd Prof David Walker, Bishop of Manchester.

It's not the first time a bishop or other senior church leader has visited an Open Table community. There have been many, but this is the first time there have been two on the same evening!

Open Table Liverpool is welcoming Bishop of Liverpool John Perumbalath to lead and preach at a special celebration of Communion.

Originally from Kerala, South India, Bishop John has served in the Church of England for more than 20 years and came to the city in 2023. This is his first visit to the first Open Table community. READ MORE.

Later the same evening, at Open Table Salford, Bishop of Manchester David Walker will preach at their Communion service.

Originally from Manchester, Bishop David is passionate about serving this region and its people, including its LGBT+ community. READ MORE.

You're more than welcome to come as you are to either of these services.

We hope to share their reflections later this month.
